February 2024

Exam periods are a period for our team to take stock, let the dust settle and dig into usage stats. As we approach March 2024, we are now able to look back at our school usage in Australia.

The current academic year is the first full academic year that schools have been able to access Writemark to test their students’ English written skill.

Writemark achieves it’s first milestone.

written English responses have now been marked.

We are so thrilled to see that almost one third of all students who have access to Writemark have used the platform for their English writing skill analysis.

For our Australian schools, NAPLAN preparation has taken centre stage since the turn of the New Year. The National Assessment Programme for Literacy and Numeracy happen every year and tests students in Year 3, 5 and 9.

Writemark supports teaching in assessing student’s written skill for their NAPLAN exams. NAPLAN writing assessments are tested in Narrative or Persuasive contexts and grade students across 10 writing dimensions according to a specific rubric.

This rubric has been uploaded into Writemark to ensure continuity for both teachers and students.

We’re thrilled to see Writemark hit this milestone and news of upcoming enhancements to the platform are only going to make life so much easier for teachers when it comes to key responsibilities such as testing student writing skill and saving themselves time to divert back into the classroom.

This is the first update on the BRAND-NEW Writemark.ai website and we are so happy to see so many of your reading and reacting to our post online and through social media. We are gathering pace for our next announcement so stay tuned across our social media (links below).

We are also pleased to have created a ‘Research Group’ for all those who want to keep up with Writemark and how the platform is progressing as an LLM and enhancing assessment marking.
